Working in the Division of Human Immunology

As part of the Hanson Institute and the IMVS, researchers within the Division have access to a range of valuable equipment and facilities:

The Adelaide Microarray Facility

The Hanson Institute and the University of Adelaide have together established the Adelaide Microarray Facility, which is located within the Molecular Life Sciences building at the University of Adelaide. The microarray facility is equipped with state-of-the-art microarray equipment, along with staff to assist researchers wanting to use this technology. The facility can also provide assistance in analysing microarray data generated.

For more information, visit the Adelaide Microarray Facility website.

The Adelaide Proteomics Centre

The Hanson Istitute and the University of Adelaide, together with the support of the Australian Cancer Research Foundation, have established the Adelaide Proteomics Centre. The facility offers researchers the technology to identify and characterise proteins using mass spectrometry, 2-D electrophoresis, free-flow electrophoresis and isotopic protein labelling techniques.

For more information, visit the Adelaide Proteomics Centre website.

Detmold Family Trust Imaging Centre

The Centre was established in the Hanson Institute in 2002 and offers researchers a valuable cell imaging and flow cytometry service. The Detmold currently has two confocal microscope, a BioRad Radiance 2100 confocal microscope and a newly installed Nikon C1 laser scanning confocal microscope. Between the two microscopes, a wide range of lasers are available giving access to a variety of specialised microscopic techniques and allowing researchers to gain the most out of their research. The Centre also offers a flow cytometry service and has two flow cytometric sorters, one of which being a high-speed cell sorter that was installed mid-2005.

For more information, visit the Detmold Family Trust Imaging Centre website.

GenSA

Established in 2001, GenSA was founded by a collaboration between the Hanson Institute, the University of Adelaide and Flinders University. The facility supplies genetically modified rodents to researchers.

For more information, visit the GenSA website.

MabSA

Monoclonal Antibodies South Australia (MabSA) is the product of a collaboration between the IMVS and the University of Adelaide. This facility has the technology to carry out all aspects of monoclonal antibody production.

For more information, visit the MabSA website.

Medvet Science Pty Ltd

Medvet Science is an in-house subsidary of the IMVS and was established to develop and market intellectual property generated by staff and students at the IMVS and products that arise from this research.

For more information, visit the Medvet website.
